Theoretically, it is at home in moral, social and political philosophy. In contrast, the book focuses on the ontological and existential dimension from the perspective of a philosophy of film. It tries to show in what sense film can give back to the doubting contemporaries of modernity the certainty that they &#8222;fit into the world&#8220;. To do this, it is not necessary, with Deleuze, to bring metaphysics back to honour. Rather, it is enough to bring Kant as a theorist of aesthetic experience together with philosophical pragmatism and the philosophy of Cavell. The film then proves to be a contemporary variant of an unreserved affirmation of life. It offers an evidential experience of existence.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vertrauen ist eine ebenso fundamentale wie unsichere emotionale Einstellung. Theoretisch ist es in der Moral-, Sozial- und Politischen Philosophie zuhause. Demgegen\u00fcber richtet das Buch das Augenmerk auf die ontologische und existenzielle Dimension, und zwar aus der Perspektive einer Philosophie des Films. Es versucht zu zeigen, in welchem Sinne der Film den zweifelnden Zeitgenossen der Moderne die Gewissheit zur\u00fcckgeben kann, dass sie \u201ein die Welt passen\u201c. Dazu muss man nicht mit Deleuze die Metaphysik wieder zu Ehren kommen lassen. Es reicht vielmehr, Kant als Theoretiker der \u00e4sthetischen Erfahrung mit dem philosophischen Pragmatismus und der Philosophie Cavells zusammenzubringen. Der Film erweist sich dann als zeitgem\u00e4\u00dfe Variante einer r\u00fcckhaltlosen Lebensbejahung.
